Irritable bowel syndrome
Irritable bowel syndrome also referred to as IBS is a condition that effects the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. IBS is associated with symptoms such as abdominal pain and altered bowel habits including constipation, diarrhoea or a combination of both. Dietitians can help individuals with IBS to improve or normalise bowel habits as well as decrease abdominal pain. The most common dietary treatment of IBS is the FODMAP diet.
